This time, I came to Tongzhou to connect with the Canal Business District project. After a week of continuous planning, I specifically changed my accommodation to Atour Hotel, Tongzhou Canal Business District, Beijing in the last few days. Originally, I only wanted it to be close to the industrial park and convenient for commuting. After staying for three days, I realized that this place completely broke away from my stereotypical impression of suburban business hotels, and brought a rare sense of relaxation to the days of non-stop business trips.
It only takes 6 minutes to walk from Beiyunhedong Station on Line 6, so you don't have to take a detour at the subway station. Just drag your suitcase and walk two steps along the trail next to the canal to get there. When checking in, my partner at the front desk, Ado, heard that I had been staying up late for several days to catch up on projects. He took the initiative to upgrade me to a higher floor river view room type and even handed me a cup of warm barley tea. He smiled and reminded me that the Ado pillows in my room could be adjusted for softness and hardness as needed. If I want to sleep well, feel free to call the front desk at any time. As soon as I pushed open the door, I was struck by the perfect texture. There were no unnecessary fancy decorations in the whole house, and the light wood colored furniture looked particularly comfortable. The small book table by the window was facing the shimmering light of the Grand Canal downstairs. A few books had been arranged in advance, including the Tongzhou Yunhe Cultural Essays that I had been looking for for a long time. The exhaustion of rushing back from the industrial park was instantly relieved.
What surprised me the most was the iconic sleeping detail of Ado. Two pillows of different softness and hardness were placed at the head of the bed, and I chose the softer down pillow to lie down. In the moment when I fell in, my shoulders and neck, which had been sore for several days, relaxed. The sound insulation in the room exceeded expectations. Even though there were people walking by the Grand Canal downstairs, when I closed the door, I could only hear the gentle sound of the river outside. I slept through the night for two consecutive nights without the common problem of finding a bed for business trips. The corridor is always quiet, without the noise and bustle commonly seen in other hotels. Even if I stay up late to change the plan, I won't be disturbed by the outside world at all.
The public areas of the hotel are full of thoughtfulness. In the 24-hour open Zhuju Book Bar, the warm yellow lights are always on. One day at 1am, after changing the plan, I went downstairs and found a cup of warm free lemon water. I casually pulled out an essay about the Grand Canal and flipped through it for half an hour. The tense nerves of the whole day slowly relaxed. The breakfast restaurant downstairs will open at 7:00. The small Wonton and steamed bun cooked now are more authentic than the breakfast of many chain hotels. There is no need to rush to eat cold bread. After a hot breakfast, you can go to the business district. The state of the morning is particularly good. When I came back late from working overtime at night, the front desk would also hand me a free late night Congee. A bowl of hot Congee would make me feel tired all day.
The convenient location saves a lot of time, as you can walk to the major office buildings in the Canal Business District in just ten minutes. You don't have to wake up half an hour early to squeeze into the morning rush hour subway, and the extra time allows you to sleep in the hotel for an extra half hour. The surrounding Tongzhou is also full of fireworks. You can walk downstairs for five minutes to find the local Shaobing (Baked cake in griddle) shop that has been open for more than ten years. After dinner, you can stroll to the entrance of the Grand Canal Forest Park. You can walk along the river for an afternoon without having to run far. The river wind can dissipate the pressure of the whole day.
After three days of staying, there were no flashy internet celebrity tricks, all were down-to-earth and thoughtful. In the past, business trips always felt like rushing, but this time I stayed at Atour Hotel, Tongzhou Canal Business District, Beijing, and during the busy work schedule, I managed to find a rare opportunity to relax. When I checked out, the front desk handed me a small bookmark with a canal theme, saying that I would come back to stay at the sub center anytime next time. Next time I come to Tongzhou to coordinate the project, I will definitely choose this place as soon as possible. I will live here comfortably and steadily, and even the days of business trips can become gentle.Show more
